Anti-glare film adds a secondary function: reducing screen glare by lowering visible light transmission to 15-25% VLT. This film dramatically reduces interior reflectance, eliminating the secondary glare that occurs when sunlight reflects off monitor screens. It is specified for trading floors, control rooms, design studios, and any area where screen legibility is mission-critical. The trade-off: the office becomes noticeably darker. Confirm with occupants before specifying. Cost: AED 300-400/sqm. Most commercial projects combine both: solar control film on general office glass, glare-control film only on south and west-facing facades of open plan areas with high monitor density.

Dubai's DEWA Green Building Regulations require minimum building envelope performance. The Al Sa'fat assessment evaluates buildings above a certain gross floor area and assigns compliance credits based on thermal performance improvements.
